Initially i was bit skeptical whether this charger will fit my Garmin Nuvvi 260W GPS or not. It's perfect. My GPS is charging normal like it used to do with the old original charger

Some of the other cords sold here on Amazon that claim to be for the 1490's do NOT work but this cord works perfectly with my NUVI 1490-LMT. I believe this is the oem NON-TRAFFIC cord for this family of Garmins - says Garmin on the side even. The car cord with "lifetime traffic updates" that I paid extra for is thick and unwieldy and, since most areas DO NOT HAVE traffic updates, is also completely useless. This cord is lot more convenient.

This is th exact same 12V power cord that ships with many Garmin Nuvi models. Useful as a spare, or to keep in a second vehicle. It costs a few dollars more than other manufacturer's after-market styles, but knowing it is well made and will hold-up over repeated moving in and out of multiple vehicles seems like it is worth the investment.

It's a cord and two connectors; one end plugs into your GPS receiver, the other end into a 12-volt outlet in your car. Simple. Remember that running the GPS off car power means you can leave the receiver on continuously and even use the backlight as much as you want.

Bought this as power cord for the second vehicle and as such it works great, 5 Stars, but please be aware that for those who own a Nuvi with Traffic update capability, this cord will not provide that functionality. The Nuvi with Traffic updates requires the cord with the FM receiver and antenna imbedded within it. The FM receiver cord is Not cheap, (in the range of $100), and as of this writing is not yet available from Garmin, (although their website says it will be soon).

This is the perfect cable for Germin Nuvi 265. I bought a different (cheap quality) one from another website who claimed that it will work. I had to ask for a refund. Then I went to Germin website, got the correct model number for the power cable and bought it from Amazon.

Charger works great. Got this for my garmin 2360lmt so when I do not need traffic information I can use this nice cable instead and toss the bulky cable with the traffic receiver aside.
